New figures from the CSO show that prices were up 0.5% nationally in the year to April.
In Dublin, prices dropped by 0.1% – the highest house price growth in Dublin was in Fingal at 2.7%, while Dublin City and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown both saw a decline of 1.8%.
Outside of Dublin, Wicklow was the priciest county with a median house price of €330,000 followed by Kildare at €310,000. Overall, Leitrim had the nation’s lowest median price for property at €105,000.
Interestingly, property prices in the West of Ireland showed the highest rise percentage change nationwide from January to April with of 3.1%
Overall, the national index is 18.1% lower than its highest level in 2007. The median, or typical, price paid for a home in April was €250,000.
